One enters the apartment via two descending steps. To the left is a large walk-in store cupboard for clothes and luggage; to the right is a good-sized bathroom with shower. The central room has parquet flooring which gives the apartment warmth; on the right hand side is a sofa which turns into a very comfortable single bed with a thick mattress. There is also a pull-out ottoman stool which turns into a single bed. On the right side of the room is the dining area with a glass-topped round table, three chairs and a pretty trompe l'oeil decorated cupboard, painted to resemble a dresser with crockery, which conceals the open corner kitchen. To the right of this is a further spacious cupboard for additional storage. The apartment has an armoured door, independent heating, bell and buzzer, telephone, TV, 2-ring electric cooker, small fridge, crockery, two sets of linen and towels. The apartment is served by a lift and has a daytime porter service.

Palazzo Rimbotti dates back to the 14th century, at a time when Florence was beginning to expand beyond its original Roman centre. Compared to the Via delle Belle Donne, Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Antinori were then parallel side streets leading out towards the city’s exits. It was only later, towards the mid 15th century, that Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Antinori were expanded and became the place where rich Florentines bought and refurbished large buildings to turn them into stately homes. Throughout the centuries, Palazzo Rimbotti was extensively remodelled, acquiring its present day aspect around the mid 18th century.
