Villa al Porto stands in a park which was, in ancient times, the antique Roman cave of Porto Rotondo. Slaves worked here to extract the granite used by Rome, in the park there are still traces of the "cuts" made for the 2 columns which can be now admired at the entrance of the harbour. When the owner discovered this place decided to use the same granite for his house, giving an overall feelling of a house immersed in the nature.
