Overlooking the famouse lake between the Regions of Tuscany and Umbria, Villa Marian is a surprising accommodation. A short drive to Perugia, Assisi and other intersting attractions in Umbria, this villa is also very handy for visiting Southern Tuscany and over. The historic towns of Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Pienza, are all at an easy reach.
Lake Trasimeno is surrounded by lovely towns, Castiglione del Lago, with its ruins of a medieval Castle, Tuoro and Passignano. Visitors can take a boat ride to the island (Isola Maggiore) known for lacemakers and the legendary encounter between St. Francis and a fish. rding to the story, in 1211, St. Francis threw back a pike given him by a local fisherman. The grateful fish followed St. Francis around the lake until the saint dispensed a special blessing. St. Francis and "Brother Fish" are commemorated in the island's church.
In Passignano and Tuoro one can walk alongside the lakeshore promenades, full of people enjoying the lake during the summer. Lake Trasimeno also offers some beaches.
The villa is near Castel Rigone and the town of Tuoro, it's surrounded by a garden with olive groves of 1300 sqm, with a swimming pool and a hydromassage tub.
