A luxury villa has emerged in the wake of an ancient farmhouse: the original hayloft is now an immense master bedroom, the former sheep pen is now a covered terrace perfect for dining outside, and where barns once existed has been transformed into a magnificent sun-drenched hall. The owners of Villa Toscana have lived here for the past 50 years; the patriarch's love of the Tuscan countryside and devotion to its improvement brought him to the Val D'Orcia and a lifelong dedication to agriculture, finally resulting in this villa.
Hence, the ethereal landscape surrounding Villa Toscana has been gradually transformed into farmland. Five working farms producing primarily wheat and olives make up the Gonzi family's resources in the Val D'Orcia. The trees surrounding the estate are centuries old, and the hillside is made up of crete senese, a particularly fertile soil peppered with clay and sand reminiscent of millions of years of Mediterranean erosion and the primordial marine life that once resided here. The Villa Toscana is abloom with several varieties of roses, cheerful yellow ginestra typical of Tuscany, fragrant lavender and thriving rosemary plants.
Guests of Villa Toscana have the unique pleasure of enjoying food directly from the farm, offered with the care and expertise of hosts Serena and Enrico.
